Many of the foods, superfoods, herbs and dietary supplements you consume are contaminated with toxic heavy metals.
At the Natural News Forensic Food Lab, food research scientist Mike Adams documented alarming levels of toxic heavy metals in common foods and supplements:
Foods, herbs and supplements grown in China are at particularly high risk of contamination. A recently declassified document in China admits that 20% of the nation's farms are contaminated with heavy metals. (1)
Chinese environmental authorities are on the record warning that contaminated farms produce about 12 million tons of food each year that's contaminated with heavy metals. (2)
Yet almost anything grown in China can be certified organic by the USDA, imported into the USA and sold at health food stores even if the product contains alarmingly high levels of toxic heavy metals!
As a result, millions of people in North America are eating contaminated products every day, poisoning themselves with lead, cadmium, mercury and other toxic metals.
Right now, the following products sold in the USA are very often grown in China: Organic rice protein, medicinal herbs, pet treats, superfood powders, medicinal mushrooms, juice grasses, fruit concentrates, dried fruits, spices, seaweeds, baking ingredients, meat products and more.
At high enough concentrations in the body, heavy metals can cause permanent damage and even death:
Heavy Metals Defense is the world's first laboratory-validated dietary supplement with the proven capacity to bind with and capture heavy metals during simulated digestion in the laboratory (in vitro).*
Heavy Metals Defense is available both in CAPSULE form and POWDER form. No flow agents, excipients, fillers or binders are used in either formula.
The powder form of Heavy Metals Defense easily blends into smoothies or other drink recipes.
As the capture results charts show below, even at very high levels of toxic heavy metals -- over 20 ppm! -- a surprisingly small amount of Heavy Metals Defense (1 gram) is able to bind with and capture as much as 99.9% of those metals, depending on the concentration and element.
Heavy Metals Defense is laboratory verified to capture lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, copper, aluminum and uranium. (See charts below for its effectiveness at different concentrations of these metals.)
...and many other foods and supplements.
Heavy Metals Defense is NOT a replacement for a local Emergency Room or a Poison Control Center. If you suspect that you or another person is acutely poisoned with very high levels of toxic heavy metals, immediately call for emergency medical assistance.
Heavy Metals Defense is manufactured in a cGMP-compliant facility.
All raw materials are meticulously tested for heavy metals.
Before the heavy metals have a chance to be absorbed by your intestinal lining, Heavy Metals Defense ionically binds with them, trapping them in a "molecular sandwich" of fibers and solids which are naturally eliminated by your body in the form of bowel movements.
Remember: Those things which you eliminate through bowel movements do NOT get absorbed into your blood. This is part of your body's natural elimination system that defends you against dietary threats. Heavy Metals Defense simply supports this natural process to make it more efficient at eliminating heavy metals before they get absorbed into your blood. *
For most people, the No. 1 source of exposure to heavy metals is through food and diet. While the body can handle very small exposure levels due to natural elimination channels, exposure to high levels of heavy metals in daily food intake can create a toxic build-up within the body.
California Proposition 65 says that a dietary supplement should expose a person to no more than 0.5 micrograms of lead per day, yet in early 2014, Natural News found and documented over 2,000% higher lead in certified organic rice protein products!
Similar concentrations of lead were found in one brand of cacao superfood, and ten times higher concentrations were detected in medicinal herbs from China!
The challenge is that there's no way to know when you're eating toxic heavy metals. They're invisible to the eye and also impossible to taste in foods. So people inadvertently eat these heavy metals day after day, usually with no idea how much poison they're consuming.
Eating nothing more than off-the-shelf health foods, organics, herbal supplements and multivitamins, a person today could consume over 300 micrograms of lead in one day without even knowing it.
What's even worse, the highest levels of lead detected so far were found in health foods and certified organic foods! So even when you're trying to eat healthy, the very foods you trust to be clean often turn out to be heavily contaminated!
The USDA currently has no limit for the concentration of heavy metals allowed in certified organic foods. Neither does the FDA.
In the United States of America, food and supplements can be legally sold with ANY level of toxic heavy metals!
While there are strict limits on e.coli and certain microbiological contaminants in food, there are virtually no rules whatsoever limiting heavy metals.
Grocery stores and retailers conduct ZERO testing for heavy metals, by the way. They don't see that as their responsibility. So if the food is contaminated from the manufacturer, that's what they sell to the customer.
The bottom line? If you want to protect yourself from heavy metals in the food supply, you have to take matters into your own hands.
Until the FDA and USDA enforce strict heavy metals limits across the food supply, every grocery store is a mine field of heavy metals risk.
Fortunately, we've found that fresh produce items such as fruits and vegetables tend to be very low in heavy metals, but all concentrated or "extracted" products carry the potential for much higher concentrations of toxic metals.
On the down side, foods sold in the United States are not required to carry country-of-origin labeling, so there's no easy way to avoid products grown in polluted countries like China. This makes eating almost any manufactured food or dietary product a risky roll of the dice.
Heavy Metals Defense is laboratory-verified to bind with and capture the very same heavy metals found throughout the food supply. Using it in conjunction with contaminated foods can help support your body's natural elimination of those toxic metals.*
To test Heavy Metals Defense, we used synthetic gastric acid and a digestion simulation process to mimic human digestion as closely as possible.
Known quantities of toxic heavy metals were added to digestion vials in increasing concentrations, ranging from 1.5 ppm to over 20 ppm, depending on the element.
After the digestion simulation, solids were removed from liquids in the digestion vials. The solids represent what your body eliminates through fecal matter. Liquids represent those things absorbed through intestinal walls and into your bloodstream.
The heavy metals concentrations of the liquids were then measured via ICP-MS. These results were compared to matching pairs of digestion vials prepared without Heavy Metals Defense to determine the percentage of heavy metals removed from the resulting liquids.
The charts below describe the findings using just 1 gram of Heavy Metals Defense.
On average, the reductions in toxic heavy metals achieved by this in vitro testing were:
What is HMD made of?
HMD is a combination of a dehydrated seaweed powder, a unique seawater extract, grape seed powder, Clean Chlorella and Hawaiian Spirulina. Each of the five ingredients plays an important role in the overall function of the product.
Does HMD block any beneficial nutrients?
Yes, because of its powerful ionic action, HMD will bind with and capture dietary zinc. For this reason, we recommend supplementing zinc at other times when you are not taking HMD.
Does HMD remove heavy metals from my body's organs or blood?
No. HMD has not been shown to remove heavy metals from tissues and organs. It has only been demonstrated to bind with and capture heavy metals before they are absorbed into your bloodstream.
To assist your body's natural elimination of heavy metals in tissues and organs, we recommend exploring heavy metals chelation clinics and learning about nutritional support for heavy metals removal: glutathione, N.A.C. etc.
Call 1-800-LEAD-OUT to learn more about chelation.
When should I take HMD?
HMD is best taken only with meals that you suspect of being contaminated with toxic heavy metals. These tend to be meals made with fish, seaweeds, certain superfoods (like cacao) or anything grown in China. HMD can also be used alongside Chinese medicine formulas which are often found to contain high lead.
Can I safely take HMD while pregnant?
Please consult your primary care physician for an appropriate personalized answer. We are not aware of any risk posed to expectant mothers by HMD, but because gestational dietary needs are complex, we advise you to seek professional assistance. (We can say conclusively that repeatedly eating very high concentrations of lead or mercury while pregnant may threaten the health of your baby.)
Is HMD patented?
HMD is patent pending, meaning a patent has been filed but not yet approved.
Have human trials ever been conducted on HMD?
Human trials have not been conducted. We have ethical reservations about intentionally exposing anyone to dietary heavy metals as part of an experiment. Such a scenario seems to violate fundamental medical ethics. If we can devise a way to test the product in humans without violating medical ethics, we will pursue human trials.
Can HMD prevent cancer caused by heavy metals?
No. HMD is not a drug and does not treat, prevent or cure any disease.
Can children or pregnant women take HMD?
Expectant mothers, children and anyone with a medical condition should consult with their health care physician before consuming this or any dietary product.
